OKLAHOMA CITY (September 25, 2015) – The TSET Board of Directors approved $171,000 in incentive grants for communities and schools at their quarterly board meeting this week.

Grants were awarded to two cities, four school districts and three school sites as part of the TSET Healthy Community and Healthy Schools incentive grant programs.

OKLAHOMA CITY (September 25, 2015) - The vice provost for graduate programs and associate dean for biomedical sciences at Oklahoma State University Center for Health Sciences in Tulsa has joined the TSET Board of Directors.

Bruce Benjamin, Ph.D., was appointed to the TSET Board of Directors by House Speaker Jeff Hickman. Benjamin, of Claremore, represents the communities that make up the 2nd Congressional District in northeastern Oklahoma.

OKLAHOMA CITY, OK  (September 14, 2015) – The Western Heights Public School District was presented with a $10,000 check Monday as part of the Healthy School District Incentive Grant program through the Tobacco Settlement Endowment Trust (TSET).

OKLAHOMA CITY (August 31, 2015) - The Twin Hills School District was recently honored for its efforts to improve health. Twin Hills School District was awarded a Healthy Schools Incentive Grant in the amount of $1,500. The Okmulgee County school district will use the grant funds to help get a salad bar in their cafeteria. The district will also use funds to purchase additional physical activity equipment such as jump ropes and hula hoops to help students stay active.

This past week we celebrated a milestone for the future of our children. A new law making all school campuses tobacco-free, 24-hours a day, 7-days a week took effect on Thursday, August 20. Now all children, in all corners of the state, will attend schools that support making the healthy choice, the easy choice.
