Norman Regional Health System Benefits from Funding for New Emergency Room Physicians

OKLAHOMA CITY (May 16, 2016) --TSET, the Tobacco Settlement Endowment Trust, has partnered with Oklahoma State University Center for Health Sciences and OSU Medical Authority to provide new emergency department physicians to the Norman Regional Health System, which includes Norman Regional Hospital and Norman Regional HealthPlex.

OKLAHOMA CITY (May 12, 2016) – Officials with TSET honored the City of Weatherford on Thursday for its efforts to improve the health and quality of life in their community.

TSET offers incentive grants to eligible communities that have met criteria established for the program such as tobacco-free policies, availability of fresh fruits and vegetables, and increasing opportunities for residents to become more physically active.
 
To be eligible to apply communities must first have been recognized through the Certified Healthy Oklahoma program, a partnership between the Oklahoma Academy for State Goals, the Oklahoma Turning Point Council, the State Chamber and the Oklahoma State Department of Health.
 

The Davis Public School district was presented with a $5,000 check Monday as part of the Healthy School District Incentive Grant program through the Tobacco Settlement Endowment Trust (TSET).
Tracey Strader, TSET Executive Director, and Casey Killblane, TSET Board of Directors, presented a plaque and big check to Superintendent Todd Garrison, Director of Special Services Sheri Knight, Murray County Health Educator Julie Selman, and members of the Davis Board of Education.  

Beggs Elementary School received a $10,000 check Thursday as part of the Healthy Schools Incentive Grant program through the Tobacco Settlement Endowment Trust (TSET).

Sharon Howard, TSET Healthy Schools Program Manager, presented a plaque and big check to Principal Nancy McCune and Physical Education Program Grant Director Michelle Camacho at the school’s playground. The Beggs School used its TSET incentive grant to pay for playground equipment and improvements. School fundraisers and the Creek Nation also raised money for the playground.
